Outdoor School Program
For more than 30 years, Camp Chief Hector YMCA has been running overnight outdoor school experiences that provide unique opportunities for enhancing curriculum objectives, building communication and cooperative group skills, and providing a shared experience for students of different backgrounds.
We have a variety of outdoor school options available at Camp Chief Hector. For a detailed list, please review the “2023 Outdoor Schools Program Overview” document below.
Currently, Camp Chief Hector YMCA has Master Agreements with the Calgary Board of Education and the Rocky View School Division. If you belong to a school that isn’t a part of either of those boards, we can likely still accommodate a booking. Please email your request, and we will work with you to try to have you join us at camp!
As with any program at the YMCA Calgary, our school programs are centered on the four core values of the YMCA: Caring, Honesty, Responsibility, and Respect. We look forward to working with you and your students.

- What dates would you like (please give 3 different weeks in case your first choice has been taken): *please note that we try to have all school bookings run from Monday to Thursday, except for after a long weekend, where we will go Tuesday to Friday. Day Groups, when possible, are usually booked on Fridays.
