Step Into the Magic with The Midnight Fort
This April, YMCA Calgary invites you to experience The Midnight Fort, a magical theatre production that brings imagination to life, right in your own community.
Midnight Fort follows nine-year-old Robin, queen of make-believe, whose living room fort magically comes to life one night, opening a doorway to the kingdom of Cravendale. There, she meets Major Mirabelle, a princess-protector, and is given an important mission to maintain a secret hideout for the creatures of the land. Along the way, Robin encounters playful sprites, acrobatic Wally-Bats and even grannies who can see the future.
Written by Charlotte Nixon, The Midnight Fort is brought to life with the Calgary Young People’s Theatre. This story creates a fun and imaginative adventure that invites people of all ages to join in the magic and explore their creativity.
Families in Calgary’s southeast and northwest can enjoy the show close to home, with performances taking place at the Brookfield Residential YMCA at Seton and Shane Homes YMCA at Rocky Ridge. With free, convenient parking and tickets priced at $20 for YMCA members and $23 for non-members, it’s an easy and affordable way to enjoy a memorable night of live theatre with friends and family.
Arts experiences like this are important, with 80 percent of Albertans reporting they have a positive effect on their communities. Through YMCA Arts, these experiences are brought into suburban spaces, giving families and communities more opportunities to connect, share stories and enjoy live entertainment close to home.
Whether you’re planning a family outing, trying live theatre for the first time, or looking for something different to do, Midnight Fort offers a fun and imaginative experience for everyone.
