YMCA Calgary > Welcome to YMCA Summer Moments!

Welcome to YMCA Summer Moments!

Due to health guidance, YMCA Calgary has had to cancel all traditional summer day camps. But while we can’t engage your kids all day, every day in the way you might be used to, we’ve found a way to give them single day or twice-a-week summer experiences that will be safe, fun and memorable. Offered July to August starting July 6. We look forward to connecting with your kids because – even though they are not camps – they are YMCA Summer Moments!

Will you be opening other YMCA locations soon?

Taking care of our health is important, now more than ever before. At the Y, were here to help you stay active, healthy and improve your well-being. And, we are so pleased to say that we’ll soon be back to serve you!

Our doors will officially open on Monday July 20, 2020 and we want to help you prepare for your return to the Y. Things will be different. In order to support you in the safest way possible and follow all guidance from health authorities, we’ve put in place some measures that will look and feel different. What hasn’t changed is our commitment to creating experiences for you and your family. Click here to learn about our re-opening strategy

Safety Protocols

Physical Distancing

Smaller group sizes, outdoor games and activities, and increased staffing numbers to accommodate 2 metre physical distancing, while encouraging responsible social interaction and participation between children. Hand sanitizer will be available for all participants for use before, during and after program.

Staff will wear masks when maintaining a physical distancing of 2m is not possible. An example of this is the check-in desk area.

Personal Use of Equipment

Children will have their own equipment and materials to use exclusively throughout the morning or afternoon; all equipment will be cleaned and sanitized between activities. Specific to the Summer Moments of Family Art, registrants will be given an “art kit” when they arrive for class. The materials in this kit will be theirs to take home at the end of the session. An example of what might be in an art kit would be a set of pencils, an eraser, and a few chalk pastels. All other equipment will be cleaned and sanitized between activities

Daily Health Screenings

All registrants will be asked to complete a digital COVID-19 health screening upon arrival, which will include a short symptom-related questionnaire. This tool will help you determine if it is safe for you and those in your party to participate. The screening data is secure and won’t be collected or shared in any way – it’s simply a way for you to know if it is safe for you and others to participate.
