FAQ – Young Adult Membership
Starting November 21, 2015 YMCA Calgary will offer a “Young Adult” Membership at a reduced price for members ages 18-25.
If you are between the ages of 18 and 25, here are some questions you may be asking:
Q: I currently have an adult membership. What should I do?
A: If we have your birth date on file, our Member Services staff will contact you to adjust your rate. Please feel free to contact us or come into your home branch if you are between 18-25 years old and have not heard from us. We may not have collected your birth date at signup, so we’re requesting your help to make this adjustment possible. The new rate will be applied to your next membership payment.
Q: What should I do if I have a student membership?
A: Your rate will stay the same, however, when your membership expires, you will need to transfer to our ‘monthly continuous’ Young Adult membership. Our Member Services staff will contact you approximately one month in advance of this date or you can contact your home branch at any time.
Q: I am turning 18; how do I make sure my membership continues?
A: Our membership system will automatically transfer the membership to the Young Adult category on their membership renewal date the year they turn 18. This includes memberships linked to an adult member.
