Staff, Volunteers and Alumni
Welcome to the Camp Chief Hector Staff, Volunteer and Alumni page! Check back often to find information about upcoming events, job/volunteer opportunities and much more.
At Camp Chief Hector YMCA, children and youth belong, grow, thrive and lead. In our safe, positive and encouraging environment, young people learn about teamwork, making choices, social skills, responsibility, ability to take risks/realize personal limits, independence and finding their place in the world—leading to increased self-esteem, confidence, creativity, self-sufficiency and leadership skills.
It is the Staff Members that join, along with the natural wonders of the site and the strengths of the campers, that make Camp Chief Hector a touchstone for so many people.

Alumni from Camp Chief Hector YMCA includes anybody who has ever supported or attended “Hector”, from the 1930’s beneath Yamnuska to the previous season at the foot of Lookout Mountain. The Alumni support camp and keep alive the spirit of friendship and adventure that they created while they were here.
Volunteers at Camp Chief Hector YMCA have diverse connections to camp. They are staff and camper alumni, friends of “Hector”, business partners, corporate supporters, contractors as well as current staff members. Did you know that every year well over one hundred volunteers work to make Camp Chief Hector YMCA the camp we all can experience? Each year, an Adult and a Youth Volunteer of the Year is selected in order to share with others the spirit that drives the actions of volunteers at Camp Chief Hector.
Thank you to Sac Dene Volunteer Drivers John Pearce, Steve Smith and Simon Isenstein and to Northern Saskatchewan Volunteer Driver Ben Geddes. Thank you also to all the long distance drivers and day-trip drivers: your work makes a big difference, rich impact and great smiles.
