Why Kids Should Experience Nature

There is an interesting and informative interview on the KPBS website with Stephen Kellert, Tweedy/Ordway Professor Emeritus of Social Ecology and Senior Research Scholar at the Yale University School of Forestry and Environmental Studies. The interview is focussed on why it is important for kids to get outdoors and experience nature on a regular basis.

…We have a biologically based inclination to affiliate with natural systems and processes which became part of our capacity and ability, emotionally and intellectually and physically over time.
