Trainer Tip of the Week: Go Big or Go Home!

Want to go bigger? Here are some helpful tips to inrcrease muscle mass and size:

  • Lift heavy, with fewer repetitions
  • The cumulitive effect of exhaustion in all sets, rather than exhaustion per set will stimulate the necessary chemical reactions and protein metabolism for optimum hypertrophy to be achieved
  • The workout should focus on compound excercises such as bench press and squats
  • Eccentric, or muscle lengthening actions (i.e. lowering phase of a bisep curl) at high intensities is more effective than concentric training for increasing muscle mass as measured by girth
  • Eat protein! Protein is required to build and repair muscle tissue
