On Monday June 8, we are unable to process any credit card or debit payments as we implement a software upgrade to serve you better.

During this period, drop-in fees will not be charged but picture ID will be required for access. Please ask our staff about options for program registration and membership purchase.

Horseback riding lessons at Camp Chief Hector YMCA

Horseback riding lessons | 7-8Y and 9-11Y
Camp Chief Hector YMCA
Sundays | May 10, 24, 31 and June 7 | 2:30-4pm
$140

Instruction includes how to groom a horse (brushing, picking hooves), how to tack and untack (saddle & bridle), and basic riding skills in the arena. Time will be split evenly between horsemanship and riding. Participants will learn to feel comfortable around horses while having a fun learning experience.

June 14 will be used as an alternated date in case of inclement weather on a scheduled Sunday.
No class on the Sunday of Victoria Day weekend.

Ever wanted to volunteer for Camp? We are looking for drivers to help get campers to and from their outtrips.

Volunteering with Camp Chief Hector YMCA provides meaningful experiences that contribute to our camping community. We are currently seeking Outtripping drivers looking to connect with current campers and staff by providing safe transportation to and from hike and canoe routes.

Camp Chief Hector YMCA | Open House

Sunday, May 31, 2015 | 1-3pm

This is a great opportunity to see our site with your campers, family or friends. The Camp Director and senior staff team will be available to answer questions.

Site tours leave regularly from Bowfort Lodge. Have a look inside a tipi. See our high ropes course, climbing tower, horse corrals and more. Try canoeing, arts & crafts, archery and pony petting.

Camp Chief Hector YMCA Family weekend registration – March 3 and 5

Camp Chief Hector YMCA offers a weekend getaway for the entire family during the spring and fall. There are a variety of activities to choose from to create a unique outdoor experience. Participants can try things like horseback riding, hikes, canoeing, high ropes, group games, arts and crafts, climbing tower and evening campfires.

Have you heard about Camp Chief Hector YMCA summer camp from a friend? Do you have questions for us before you sign up your child?

Camp Chief Hector YMCA information sessions will be held during the week of Feb 23-27.

We have many summer camps available for 7-17 year olds. There are 6-day, 13-day and 27-day overnight adventures for both boys and girls. Camp activities include archery, low and high ropes courses, horseback riding, climbing tower, challenge course, canoeing, arts and crafts, hiking and much more.

All sessions run from 7:00-7:45pm.
