National Volunteer Week

Volunteers are the roots of strong communities. In the same way that roots are crucial for a tree to grow and flourish, our YMCA volunteers are essential for Calgary’s communities to grow and develop. We are in the business of building healthy communities and we simply could not live up to our full potential without our amazing volunteers.

April 10 to April 16, 2016 is National Volunteer Week and is a time to celebrate and thank Canada’s 12.7 million volunteers. 1300 of those volunteers are right here in Calgary, serving their communities at the YMCA. YMCA volunteers contributed 108,000 hours of service in 2015 and we cannot thank them enough for their positive impact in the lives of Calgarians.

To each and every YMCA volunteer: Thank you for all that you have done.
