Many people who had previously travelled to Ukraine told us that we needed to bring marshmallows with us to camp as they don’t have them. I decided that one bag probably wouldn’t be enough and packed two bags of the big ones and one bag of the small colourful ones. I was right! The kids who had not tasted them before were really excited to try them and the kids who had, were ecstatic to have them again.

A few of us gathered sticks and started to whittle them. We got a fire going and had everyone come together around the fire pit. Sarah, myself and a couple of the counsellors roasted two marshmallows at a time each so that everyone got the chance to have a taste. We couldn’t roast them fast enough and the bags were gone in minutes! They even licked the sticks to make sure nothing was left behind.
