Join in our 5-week, 5Days5Ways Active Challenge from March 26 – April 29.
You’ll find new ways to stay active, keep your routine fresh… and have chances to win amazing prizes (FitBit, iPad, Personal Training Sessions ane more!).
- If you’re a member, check your inbox each week for a weekly activity challenge and benefits of participating.
- Check your YMCA location’s weekly schedule to learn what activities are offered that fit with the weekly theme.
- Once you’ve completed a 5Days5Ways themed activity, complete a ballot and drop it in the ballot box to enter to win (the more you participate, the more chances you have to win!).
*Our South Health Campus location will offer different weekly themes for weeks 3-5, but the activities will be just as fun and beneficial. See details below.
WEEK 1: CARDIO
MARCH 26 – APRIL 1
Ramp up your workout this week and try one of these heart-pumping activities:
Try new cardio equipment, run or walk the track or try out one of our cardio drop-in classes.
*MEMBER TIP: Join a Program & Services Orientation. It’s FREE FOR MEMBERS and a great way to learn more about our programs and services (many free with membership), the strength and conditioning floor, and how properly use the cardio and strength equipment.
WEEK 2: STRENGTH
April 2 – 8
Push yourself this week with these strength-building activities: Try the circuit, visit the weight floor, hire a personal trainer or try one of our strength drop-in classes.
Join a Fitness Essentials session. FREE FOR MEMBERS, you’ll learn how to properly use of weight and cardio equipment and receive a basic strength and conditioning program to help reach your goals.
Strength train with a friend. Members can bring a friend for FREE on the 5th of each month.
WEEK 3: AQUATICS
April 9 – 15
Make waves this week. Try one of these low-impact ways to be active:
Swim lengths, try water running with a belt or join one of our aquatic drop-in classes.
Whether you are wanting to overcome your fear of the water, get fit in the pool or refine your stroke, we have a variety of programs and services to suit your needs. Join a FREE aquatic class, or sign up for a MEMBER DISCOUNTED program a private or semi-private lesson.
WEEK 3 at South Health Campus: Climbing
April 9 – 15
Reach new heights this week:
Scale the climbing and bouldering walls and get a total body workout!
WEEK 4: Sport & Rec
April 16 – 22
Aim high and try one of these activities with friends:
Drop in to basketball, climbing wall, squash, badminton, or floor hockey.
YMCA Calgary offers drop-in sport time and registered sports leagues. MEMBERS receive DISCOUNT PRICING on all programs! Check out our schedules and program guides for details.
WEEK 4 at South Health Campus: Group Fitness
April 16- 22
Get motivated with others and feel the power of the group with these drop-in classes: Cycling, zumba, yoga, bootcamp, aquafit, step and more!
WEEK 5: Group Fitness
April 23 – 29
Find the motivation and accountability of a group workout. Choose from a variety of drop-in classes: Cycle, zumba, yoga, bootcamp, aquafit, step, muscle works, and more!
YMCA offers FREE Introductory Programs to MEMBERS including: Intro to Resistance Training, Intro to Yoga, and Fitness for Youth. See our program guides for details about these registered programs.
WEEK 5 at South Health Campus: Ball Workout
April 23- 29
Strengthen your core and more with the use of a ball.
Drop in to one of our fun and challenging ball classes.
