Child Development Centre
The
Eau Claire, Shawnessy and South YMCA branches operate licensed childcare programs that offer full-time care for children 19 months to six years of age. YMCA Calgary’s Child Development Centres give children the opportunity to swim, play in the gym, go on outings and field trips, and participate in other stimulating activities. |

Children are required to bring a lunch. Morning and afternoon snacks are provided.
When children are old enough to attend kindergarten, we will transport them to a nearby designated school. Please inquire about schools at the centre you are interested in.
All YMCA Calgary Child Development Centres are accredited by the Alberta Association for the Accreditation of Early Learning and Care Services.
YMCA Playing to Learn
YMCA Playing to Learn is a national curriculum developed by the lead association, the YMCA of Greater Toronto, that helps children discover learning through creative play and aligns with primary school benchmarks. We believe YMCA Playing to Learn is the best approach to ensure a child’s continued enthusiasm and capacity for life-long learning. It provides an understanding of how play offers the foundation for learning to read and write, and for learning mathematics, science and technology. It provides early childhood educators with the skills to prepare spaces that are more conducive to learning, and the best practices to encourage quality learning experiences.

Fees
$800/month per child. Pre-authorized payments are required at the time of registration.

There is a non-refundable $50/family waiting list fee at each centre. Please call or visit the centre you are interested in for more information.
