YMCA Calgary offers the Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada (LINC) program for adults and English as a Second Language (ESL) day camps for children. The LINC program is funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada.
Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada (LINC)
Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada (LINC) offers English classes and an introduction to Canadian society and culture for adults. LINC is free for eligible participants and child-minding is available for some courses.
You are eligible for the LINC program if:
- You are a Permanent Resident or refugee living in Canada
- You have received an English Assessment from ILVARC
You are no longer eligible if:
- You become a Canadian Citizen

Day Camp: English Second Language (ESL) option
YMCA Calgary offers day camps for children learning English as a second language. Campers ages six to 13 receive help with English for one hour each day and take part in fun day camp activities with English-speaking campers.
