Having started your health and wellness journey, you can stay on track by using some of the excellent tools offered at YMCA. Seeing and recording your progress is very important. Whether it is seeing how many calories you burned on the treadmill or how much weight you lifted on a certain exercise, keeping track of what you do from workout to workout can have a positive influence on maintaining enthusiasm.
YMCA Calgary has installed the FitLinxx system to help members track their workouts*. FitLinxx is a computerized tracking system connected to our cardiovascular equipment as well as a carefully selected group of our resistant training equipment. The system adds an extraordinary 'intelligent' dimension to the workout experience—exercise machines are networked into a central database, providing exercisers and staff access to a wealth of information on individual progress and a unique set of motivational tools. It's easy!
The FitLinxx system can:
- Show you your range of motion
- Improve your form
- Count your reps
- Remember your machine settings for your next visit
- Provide a level of safety and confidence during exercises
- Track progress
- Help you stay motivated and maintain an active lifestyle
